I’m finally taking the long haul trucker outside this weekend.
Next weekend there is going be a community bike ride around Hackettstown, followed by music at the gazebo, including MC Steinberg, who you might know from the Best Show on WFMU. Earlier this year, I said that Hackettstown might be the next Brooklyn, and now I think it really might be. After the last ride in Hackettstown, which had a huge turnout, I was surprised that the gazebo could be so rocking; I think in Morristown, someone would call the police. Anyhow, def show up at this next ride/show. I think the ride starts at 6:30.

Burglar targeting cars parked along Patriots Path trail
The Morris County Park Police are searching for a car burglar, who has pocketed more than $1,000 in cash from numerous vehicles parked along the Patriots Path hiking trails in the past few months.

The burglar, who primarily strikes in the daytime, has hit vehicles parked by the trails in Mendham Township, Harding, Morris Township and Chatham Township, said Park Police Chief Bill Huyler. The county Park Police are working with detectives from those towns, as well as Madison, Morristown and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office to find the culprit.
Authorities also caution visitors to the park system to keep their wallets, purses and possession locked in the trunks of their vehicles before entering the woods or the path. Visitors are also asked to report any suspicious activity to police.
Anyone with any information on the thefts can call Park Police at (973) 326-7654 or the Morris County CrimeStoppers at (973) COP-CALL or 1-800-Sheriff. All calls will be kept confidential. If the information provided leads to the arrest or indictment of those responsible, up to a $1,000 cash reward will be awarded.
