2010-08-27 – Morristown Critical Mass Bike Ride

The weather did its part and provided us with a glorious Friday night for our last Critical Mass Bike Ride for the summer.  I guess lots of folks were out vacationing and out of town for this ride because we only had a couple of dozen or so riders.  Additionally, we had Scraps and Rags the Dogs along with us for the ride.

This Critical Mass was to be different than previous rides in that there was an optional leg of the ride that could be taken into Denville to pick up dinner at the Anthem Sandwich shop.  This was a little bit of an issue, as the ride was small to begin with and when we reached Marty’s Reliable at Speedwell and Sussex Turnpike, the ride split, stop and basically exploded into pieces.  A handful of danglers were waiting for the riders returning to Morristown to come back past them so they could join them.  Others just stopped and socialized in front of Marty’s and some continued North on 202 into Denville.  Scraps and Rags wanted nothing more than to go to the new Morris County dog park at Central Park, so we biked on over to the dog park right from the Critical Mass Ride.  You can read about it at
