Morristown Critical Mass: 1 Year Anniversary Ride This Friday!

This Friday is the one year anniversary ride of Morristown Critical Mass, which started after the mayor made some comments about bike commuting, like mostly saying it was sorta dumb. Anyhow, lots of things have happened bike-wise in Morristown since then. We have 40 or so new bike racks coming, and I think about 10 or so installed already. Awesome. The town is looking into trying to convince the United States Bicycling Hall of Fame to move to Morristown. The Environmental Commission’s bike committee continues to look at how to make Morristown New Jersey’s best city for bikes, and I think Morristown is on the right track.

Anyhow, this is the suit ride, so if you have a suit, wear it! If you don’t, show up anyhow. I can’t tell you how much fun I think this ride is, very easy and fun and friendly and the only thing that would make it even better is if you showed up this week! Ride starts at 6:30 from town hall parking lot, and if the mayor can show, and he has promised to, you can do it too!

p.s. We still could use someone on the green to take some pics! You know, for the historical record!

  1. If you dont find anybody and your very trusting, why not give your camera to one of the peacenicks on the green?

  2. That’s a good idea!

  3. Does anyone have a bullhorn?

  5. For anyone interested, I have posted the video I made of the ride on YouTube at the link below. I’m Larry, the guy with the Dog on the back of my bike. Keeps on getting bigger all the time!

  6. obey traffic laws
