Make a Movie, Win Big Prizes

I swear this is my last post for the week, you are on your own for bike video Thursday, because I still haven’t practiced for camp. Anyhow, this post is to push you or your talented film major friend to enter the Morristown Green’s Film Fest. I encourage bike theme videos, but I’ll leave the artistic decisions up to you. The Morristown Library has flipcams you can check out if you need one.

Here’s the rules or regulations and what you can win:

Here’s the scoop on the MG Film Fest:

The top film-maker, as judged by our panel of film buffs, will be profiled in MG, online and in print. There also will be free tickets to the NY Film Critics Series.

We’re keeping the rules pretty simple:

–Keep it clean!

–Try not to use copyrighted music. (That keeps us from posting your videos online.)
Entries are open to anyone who lives, works or plays in the greater Morristown area, or who shoots some of their video here. We welcome all talent levels.

Categories are basic, too:
Kids (up to high school)
High school
College and older (adults)
Video virgins (novice film-makers)

–Our main goal is a fun evening that encourages and showcases local talent. We will show as many videos as possible at our screening–open to the public–in August at a place and time TBA. (Check for an announcement.) We also will post the videos on after the big night.

Deadline for submissions: Aug. 8

If the video file is short enough, email it to: Please indicate “MG Film Fest” in the subject line.

Otherwise, please send on a DVD or CD to:
