Occasional Bike Dump

Brain: no stopping!

First, if anyone ever has anything to post, you can post it!  Just email me or post a comment asking to be added. When this blog first started I hoped it would be people around this area who were emailing bike stuff around could just post it in one place and then just catch up all at once. It’s really easy and if you don’t like whatever you posted, you can delete it or mess around with it all day. If noone else wants to posts, that’s all good too, but it’s really only a matter of time before I start taking pics of bike-theme food and having bike pasta night blog posts.

A couple people have emailed stories about Federal Complete Streets Legislation, which has now introduced in both the House and the Senate. Complete Streets are streets that are designed to enable safe access for all users. Pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and bus riders all able to safely travel along a complete street. Here is a link where you can ask your reps to take action on this idea and co-sponsor.

Four Wheels Bad article from the Economist.

Article in the NYT about how bike lanes have people parking in them and just ignoring them.

There are going to be 1000 bikes to use for people going to the Democratic Convention.

More high school kidss, this time in New York State, have a bike protest.

New Montclair Mayor is all into Bikes! Jerry Fried was elected this week and Montclair becomes a bit more awesome. Congrats!

Finally, I saw a truck yesterday from Tito’s that is opening up in Morristown this summer, and followed them to ask them about bike racks, and it was totally unnecessary to stalk them, because they said they are already getting TWO.   Yay!
