Earlier this week, the New York Times ran a spokes column why there are so many more men than women that ride bikes; streetsblog had reactions to that post here: Mind the Gender Gap. Anyhow, I have some ideas about why that is, but in the meantime, here’s a documentary about female bike messengers in the city, Even the Girls.
Good stuff. I could understand their enthusiasm for that kind of job. I once thought about doing it, but lo, it would not pay the bills and support a family of 4. Perhaps we’ll make a video 40 years down the road about old retirees who message NYC.
